Event Report - Imagining Technologies of Liveable Futures: Feminist Research on TFGBV
From 10 to 12 May 2024, a second inception meeting was held in person under the third cycle of FIRN. The meeting was attended by research partners and peer advisors in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Under the third cycle of FIRN, we worked with 10 research partners to provide more insight on the topic of TFGBV. Our partners come from a diversity of locations in Africa (Ethiopia, South Africa), Asia (India, Tajikistan), Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) (Brazil, Uruguay) and the Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) (Egypt, Palestine). The network centres Global South voices by deliberately partnering with researchers whose perspectives remain underrepresented in TFGBV research.
Focus on the meeting
The 3-day inception meeting provided the space and time for partners to share their research progress, discuss the expansiveness of intersectionality beyond the politics of identity, learn more about how to anticipate emerging harms through research and foresight, examine the difference in feminist research and knowledge-making, and imagine technologies of liveable futures and radical possibilities.
